About Eugenia.

I'm a scientist, social entrepreneur, and the CEO of Visions of Science. I've spent more than 15 years widening access to STEM for young people in low-income and under-resourced communities across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.

My work is grounded in my own experience. I grew up in community housing in Toronto, where science did not feel like a field that was open to me. Under my leadership, Visions of Science has grown from a small grassroots program into a national organization that reaches thousands of young people each year, with programs in more than fifty communities.

I'm also a familiar public voice on science. My work has been featured in Toronto Life, The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, and on CBC. I serve as an on-air science expert and consultant for broadcasters including TVOkids and Knowledge Network, making science clear for younger audiences without oversimplifying it.

I hold a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Toronto and completed executive education at Harvard Business School and Queen's. In 2022, Mount Saint Vincent University awarded me an honorary doctorate for my contributions to education and public science.

I serve on several boards, including the Ontario Science Centre, the Toronto Foundation, and the Counselling Foundation of Canada. I'm a two-time TEDx speaker and a Trailblazer Award recipient from the Canadian Science Policy Centre, and I speak at conferences, universities, and events across the country.

I live in Toronto with my family.
